The Mission Group is a group of Christian Chapel members who have a passion for missions. Our group is funded by the general tithes and gift given by the Congregation each Sunday. A percentage of the entire collection is made available for mission work and gifts.
The Mission group is led by Larry Donathen (Deacon) who reports directly to Dave Wooden (Elder) with the oversight of the rest of the Christian Chapel leadership and Ministers. The group is responsible for mission trips, as well as local and distant financial support for several Missionaries.
We presently support C.Y. Kim and CRAM missions that work in China, North Korea, and a number of other countries in the far east. We support P.V. Alexander’s mission who do amazing work in India. Locally we support Johnson County Senior Services as well as a few school projects. As a supporter of Camp Allendale, we believe many young folks have come to know about our Lord.
Educational institutions such as Johnson University are also recipients of financial aid, both direct and through scholarship support. This is not a complete list, and we are always on the lookout for new opportunities to spread the Gospel through our works and funds.
The Mission Committee is open to any member of Christian Chapel who wishes to share our passion for mission work both local and afar.
